Our 8-week Accelerated Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Course offers the same high standards of professional training in a more concentrated format, allowing you to immerse yourself in your learning and qualify sooner.
SFTA has been at the forefront of modern hypnotherapy training in the UK and was named School of the Year 2025 by the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP). Experienced practising Clinical Hypnotherapists will teach you, bringing their knowledge and real-world experience into the classroom.
The teaching style is highly engaging and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on active learning. You will be involved from the start, practising therapeutic techniques, experiencing hypnosis, and applying what you learn so your confidence develops alongside your knowledge.
You can choose to complete your accelerated training in person in Yorkshire with John Lowson in Halifax or live online from anywhere in the UK with Catherine Eland. The online course is fully live and lecturer-led, with demonstrations, discussion and practical work throughout — it is not a self-paced distance learning course.

What makes SFTA different?
What makes SFTA different is its broader, more modern syllabus, giving you a wider range of practical techniques alongside core Solution Focused approaches. This includes methods such as Positive Regression Therapy, Parts Therapy, the Sedona Technique, Solution Focused Walking Therapy, Mindful Hypnosis and hypnoesitherapy for pain relief.
Our accelerated learning format lets you experience this comprehensive training more intensively, completing the taught element of your professional training in just 8 weeks and 16 live teaching days, with dedicated study and practice weeks built into the course.
The accelerated format doesn’t mean a reduced syllabus. You receive the breadth and practical experience SFTA is known for, simply delivered through a more concentrated and immersive learning experience.
Accreditations and qualifications
The SFTA Accelerated Hypnotherapy Diploma offers a professionally accredited route to becoming a qualified hypnotherapist, with the taught programme delivered through eight weeks of face-to-face training. This concentrated format is ideal for those who prefer to complete their classroom studies without spreading them over many months.
On successful completion of all required training, practical work and assessments, you will receive:

The SFTA Hypnotherapy Diploma (SFHD), accredited by the GHR/GHSC and APHP.

The Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma – HPD (NCH), externally verified by NCFE and benchmarked at Level 4.
The NCH states that the HPD’s measurable learning outcomes are benchmarked at Level 4 using Ofqual’s RQF level descriptors and meet the learning outcomes of the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy. Successful candidates receive a customised qualification certificate of achievement from NCFE.
You will also benefit from ongoing support from SFTA, including practical guidance to help you establish and grow your hypnotherapy practice.

The Accelerated Hypnotherapy Diploma is not a shortened version of our training. The taught course content is delivered in concentrated blocks rather than being spread across monthly training weekends. This allows you to immerse yourself in your learning, practise regularly and build your skills over a much shorter period of time.
Yes. You will study the same comprehensive syllabus and work towards the same professional qualifications. The difference is simply the way the training is structured and the pace at which the taught element is completed.
Yes. The SFTA Hypnotherapy Diploma (SFHD) is accredited by the GHR/GHSC and APHP. You will also work towards the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma – HPD (NCH), externally verified by NCFE and benchmarked at Level 4.
The taught element of your Diploma is completed within 8 weeks. Your HPD portfolio and required clinical work continue after the taught course, giving you time to develop your experience while working towards your HPD.
The study weeks are an important part of the accelerated learning structure. They give you time to practise what you have learned, consolidate your knowledge, complete independent study and prepare for the next teaching block.
The accelerated route is ideal if you have the time to commit to an intensive period of training and would prefer to immerse yourself in your studies rather than attend one weekend each month. No previous hypnotherapy experience is required, and the course is designed to take you from beginner level through to professional practice.
Yes. Practical experience is a major part of the SFTA course. You will watch demonstrations, practise techniques, develop your initial consultation skills and work with other students throughout your training. As your confidence and experience develop, you will begin working with people outside the training group.
SFTA believes this is currently the only fully accredited Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Diploma in the UK offering the taught programme through an 8-week accelerated learning format. It provides an alternative for people who want professional, face-to-face training without spreading their classroom studies over many months.
Your relationship with SFTA does not end at graduation. You will continue developing your clinical experience and completing your HPD requirements, with support available from SFTA. You can also join the SFTA Hive, giving you access to ongoing CPDs, technique videos, real case studies and further professional development as you build your practice.
