FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is solution focused hypnotherapy (SFH), and how is it different?

Focusing on the outcome: SFH emphasizes finding solutions to problems rather than dwelling on the problem itself. The therapist and client work together to identify the client’s desired outcomes and then focus on ways to achieve those outcomes.

Evidence based: SFH techniques integrate principles from neuroscience, cognitive-behavioural therapy, NLP, and positive psychology.

Language and Communication: the therapist encourages the client to use positive language and focus on positive outcomes. It’s all about the POSITIVES.

What qualifications do I need to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist?

You don’t need any, just great enthusiasm and dedication to succeed.

How do you hypnotize someone?

Hypnotizing someone can be a surprisingly simple process! Our brains naturally enter into trance-like states throughout the day. During a hypnotherapy session, we provide a supportive environment that allows the client’s mind to enter this relaxed state. We gently guide the client into deep relaxation and focus using structured scripts and language patterns.

What can I do with my qualification after I graduate?

After you graduate, you have several options with your hypnotherapy diplomas and qualification. You can establish a private practice and offer clients in-person or online sessions. Additionally, you can specialize in corporate wellness and provide services to businesses. Graduates may decide to focus on areas such as sports performance, weight management, and children’s well-being. Plus, many hypnotherapists give paid-for talks to local groups. We will teach you how to deliver these too.

What ongoing support do I receive after I graduate?

Once the course is completed, all graduates will be given access to the HIVE – an exclusive post-course portal meticulously crafted to offer continuous support. This platform is a hub for various resources, including booster videos highlighting effective techniques and podcasts. Additionally, graduates will have the privilege of utilizing a collection of music tracks specifically designed for creating inducing states. The HIVE will be regularly updated with the most up-to-date scripts and cutting-edge methodologies. A dedicated forum will allow graduates to participate in Q&A sessions to foster engagement and a sense of community. Moreover, graduates will be expected to attend supervision sessions. A comprehensive list of supervisors will be accessible on the HIVE to provide ongoing guidance for their professional growth.

Is hypnotherapy regulated?

If you’re considering becoming a hypnotherapist in the UK, it’s important to note that this field has no statutory regulation, unlike counselling and psychotherapy. However, you can still establish yourself as a credible and ethical hypnotherapist by obtaining accredited training and joining professional associations.

Doing so will provide your clients with peace of mind because they’ll know that you have undergone rigorous training and are held to high ethical standards.

To become accredited, you must complete a specific level of education, training, and practical experience. In addition, you need to commit to ongoing professional development, supervision, and adherence to a code of conduct.

While many courses are available that are self-accrediting or unaccredited, the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) is a nationally recognized award accredited through the NCFE and benchmarked against Ofqual standards. Traditional medicine and health insurance companies increasingly accept this qualification. It is a valuable investment in your career as a hypnotherapist.

How effective is online hypnotherapy?

Our hypnotherapy training course allows you to choose how you wish to work, whether online or face-to-face. As a result of the pandemic, many of our graduates have successfully transitioned to online practices, with some choosing to work solely online.

Research indicates that online therapy can be just as effective, if not more effective, than face-to-face therapy. Professor Peter Whorwell from the University of Manchester published an article in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis stating that online hypnotherapy was as effective as face to face therapy, with no significant differences in outcomes reported.
